Milestones

1974
With a start up capital of RM500, our late founder Dato' Teh Ah Ba established Eng Hardware Electrical.
Located behind his Air Itam clinic, the workshop was set up to produce jigs & fixtures.

1979
After undergoing a massive expansion, Eng Hardware Electrical changed its name to Eng Hardware Engineering, its core business involving the production of precision tooling for the semiconductor industry.

1987 A new 40,000 sq. ft. plant was set up in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia.

1988
The company ventured into actuator production for the hard disk drive industry.
The birth of Eng Teknologi Holdings Bhd (ETHB), the ENGTEK Group’s investment holding company.

1993
ETHB made a strong debut on the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (formerly known as Malaysia Securities Exchange Berhad).

1996
Our 1st offshore manufacturing plant, ENGTEK INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, was set up in Dongguan, China

1997
Our internationally-based facilities expanded to include ENGTEK PHILIPPINES, INC., a fully-integrated manufacturing facility producing hard disk drive actuators & peripheral assemblies located in Laguna , Philippines

1998
The ENGTEK PRECISION (THAILAND) CO. LTD was set up in the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) of Ayuthaya, Thailand.

1999
The Group celebrated its 25th Anniversary & was transferred to the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (formerly known as Malaysia Securities Exchange Berhad).

2003
A forging of strategic alliances with Singapore’s Altum Precision – the Group’s 1st regional acquisition.

2004

2006
Set up Engtek (Thailand) Co., Ltd in Rojana Industrial Park, Ayutthaya, Thailand.

2007
Surpassed RM500 Million Group Revenue
